The BEKKA Hair guide

The Hair Journey

We offer two grades of hair: understanding these differences helps you choose the hair that suits your needs.

Raw single donor

Raw hair is hair that is cut from one donor, kept separate through the supply chain and used to make an individual bundle or lace product. The cuticles remain preserved and aligned from root to tip. The hair is cleansed and conditioned with no additional chemical processing.

One donor, kept together. The hair in an individual product comes from one person and remains separate during preparation.

Why choose it? It preserves that donor’s natural character and can offer the greatest consistency and longevity.

The trade-off. It is more expensive and requires an attentive hair care routine to maintain.

The feel. It feels like hair without the added gloss, silicone conditioner or shine.

Multi-donor

Raw hair is hair that is from multiple donors, bulked together through the supply chain and used to make multiple bundles or lace products. The cuticles are re-checked and sorted for alignment. The hair is lightly processed and silicone conditioned.

Carefully selected hair, combined. Cut hair from several donors is sorted and brought together to create bundles or lace products.

Why choose it? It is more cost effective due to reduced costs in the supply chain. It is available in a wider variety of  textures.

The trade-off. It still has excellent quality but may require replacement sooner than raw hair.

The feel. It has more slip and shows a shiny finish due to the silicone conditioner in the final step.

Raw single donor: one donor, kept separate, cuticles preserved and aligned, cleansed and conditioned with no additional chemical processing, then an individual bundle or lace product. Multi-donor: several donors, combined in bulk, re-checked and sorted for alignment, lightly processed and silicone conditioned, then multiple bundles or lace products. D1, D2 and D3 indicate different donors.

Silicone Conditioning

Silicones are used in hair care to condition the surface, reduce friction and improve shine and slip.

If you prefer hair with a silicone finish for added slip and shine, the Multi-Donor collection is right for you.
